Classes Offered

Bystander Intervention

This program teaches youth (grades 6-9) how to be an Upstander: someone who (1) recognizes a potentially harmful situation and (2) decides to act in a safe way to positively influence the outcome. Students will learn and practice bystander intervention skills and techniques, and increase their efficacy (belief that you can or will be able to act and will be successful) to intervene. Taught in English.

Tobacco Prevention & Advocacy

This youth program includes 6 lessons that can be taught virtually or in-person. Smoking has been proven to increase chances of contracting COVID-19 as well as complicating subsequent health effects upon contraction. There has never been a more urgent time to teach youth about the dangers of tobacco, especially with the rising popularity of e-cigarettes.

The program also gives teens resources to help them say say “no” to peer pressure, and have healthy conversations with partners. Due to the nature of this topic, parental consent is required for each participant (unless they are over the age of 18). The Making Proud Choices program is offered in English.
