Become a Festival Committee Volunteer

We are seeking dependable leaders to work with vendors at next year's festival. Volunteers must be bilingual, have great problem solving skills, must love working with people and commit to be at the festival.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collecting and reviewing applications and fees
  • Answering vendor questions
  • Verifying vendor compliance with festival regulations
  • Assigning vendor booths
  • Facilitate Mandatory vendor meetings

Web Designer

 

Description: We are looking for volunteers with experience in web development and graphic design

 
 

Qualifications: preferred 2yrs related work experience or relevant education in web development or graphic design. Spanish language fluency is also preferred but not required.


Citizenship Preparation Teacher

 

Description: Teach students the information they will need to know to pass the US Citizenship exam.

 

Qualifications: Good teaching skills, desire to help others, patience, and a good disposition. Reliability is a must.

Teaching Assistant

 

Description: Assist teacher with beginning computer operations class.
Provide assistance with student questions.

 

Qualifications: Must speak Spanish, preferred familiarity with a basic understanding of computer programs including: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be willing to take direction from teacher. 

 

Photographer

 

Description: Take pictures during events and classes as needed.

 
 

Qualifications: Preferred 2 years experience in photography or relevant education.

Historian

 

Description: Responsible for recording events through pictures, write-ups and other mediums.

 

Qualifications: Good disposition, team player, preferred Spanish speaker, attention to details, excellent note-taking skills, and creativity

 
 

Parenting Class Teacher (Heber)

 

Description: Instruct parents in different areas on how to raise their children in today's world. Topics include discipline, communication, and intentional parenting.

 

Qualifications: Preferred major in behavioral science, social work or related field.
Spanish speaking is a must. Experience working with families preferred.
Good disposition, team player, willing to take direction, and self-starter.

 

Exercise Instructor

 Description: We are looking for exercise instructors to volunteer their time and skills to help the community become healthier. Aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, Running/Walking, Tai-Chi, Zumba

 

Cake Decorating Instructor

Qualifications: Spanish speaking is a must.
Good disposition, team player, willing to take direction, and self-starter. Experience in the field.

Description: Instruct a community group in the art of cake decorating.

 

Hair-style/Hair-cutting Instructor

Qualifications: Spanish speaking is a must.
Good disposition, team player, willing to take direction, and self-starter. Experience in the field.

Description: Instruct a community group about basic hair-cutting techniques and easy to do hairstyles.

 

Full time Volunteer!!!

 The position is a one-year position. It's through the AmeriCorps VISTA program under the National Corporation of Community Service. You can look the program up at www.americorps.gov. The mission of AmeriCorps is to fight and eliminate poverty in the United States through capacity building. It's a full-time service position with a monthly stipend of $890.00 a month and an education award of $4,725.00 at the conclusion of service. It's great hands on experience for anyone that is interested in working with the Hispanic community and non-profit organizations.

Requirements for position:

-Spanish fluency  in reading, writing, and speaking)
-Preferred experience working in adult education or volunteer coordination
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills
-Reliable
-Good work ethic
-Bachelor's degree of equivalent relevant work experience
