FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Provo, Utah: October 14, 2010 Provo, Utah—Tomorrow, October 15, 2010 from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm, local nonprofit Centro Hispano will partner with Utah’s Mexican Consulate and other health service providers to host a free health fair at Dixon Middle School (800 W. 200 N. Provo UT, 84601) as part of Binational Health Week. Binational Health Week (BHW) is one of the largest mobilization efforts by Mexico and the United States that unites volunteers, community-based organizations, and federal and state government agencies to improve the health and well-being of Latinos in the United States. This year’s 2010 BHW-Provo Health Fair will offer free health screenings (diabetes, vision, dental, asthma and HIV), routine physical exams, vaccines, health promotion activities for children and much more. The health fair will also include health education and information on services offered in the community. These services will be free and are open to the entire community. Binational Health Week includes health-promotion events and educational activities such as workshops, health fairs and medical screenings. Centro Hispano has become an important partner by hosting the BHW-Provo Health Fair for the last five years. In recent years, the attendance to this fair has increased from 260 to 900 participants.

Centro Hispano is a local nonprofit organization that provides services and educational opportunities for Utah County’s Hispanic community. Centro Hispano’s mission is to orient and mentor Latinos with the necessary skills and resources to strengthen their families and contribute to the community.
